Over 1,300 Youth For Community Policing In Ebonyi State

ABAKALIKI – Ebonyi State Government Neighbourhood recruitment exercise on going in the 13 Local Government Council will recruit over 1,300 youths both male and female.

Addressing newsmen, Hon. Chidiebere Egwu Goodluck, Special Assistant to Ebonyi State Governor on Youth Employment revealed that the state government is targeting over 1,300 persons.

He commended the State Governor Chief Engr David Nweze Umahi for his security consciousness, and for being development oriented.

He said that the ongoing state neigbohood security watch screening exercise is intended to produce decent citizens for the job, not creamily minded people with criminal record, adding that apart from attitude test which is number one criteria, the screening committee considering physical fitness and those qualified during the screening will also pass through police, DSS and military training before final recruitment. Each local government is to bring out 100 persons.

The Governor being gender friendly has made provisions for young men and women to be accommodated in the recruitment.

Apart from the ongoing screening, The SA. on security still disclosed that the Governor has done exceedingly well by creating more ministries.

He therefore called on youths to leverage on the enabling business opportunities created for them by the state governor.

His counterpart Hon. Chika Nwangene SA to Governor on Security praised the Governor for the youth empowerment and his Inclusiveness in governance, and he also urged the applicants to take the job very serious if qualified....
