Patient Medicine Dealer Murdered In Benin

BENIN CITY – A patient medicine dealer has been murdered in Benin City.

The victim whose name was given by the police as Ukponahiusi Osas was shot dead at his residence in Akpata village, Off Upper Siluko road, Benin City about 10p.m, last Sunday, September 15, 2019.

His killers were said to be men dressed in black shirts numbering over eight.

The assailants abandoned their victim in pool of blood as he was confirmed dead at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), where he was rushed to for medical attention.

Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer for Edo Police Command DSP Chidi Nwabuzor said the deceased father one Mr Ukponahiusi Michael reported the case at Ogida Police Divisional Headquarters, about 7a.m on Monday, September 16, 2019.

DSP Nwabuzor explained that operatives of the division on arrival at the scene of crime gathered that the deceased had been having unresolved land dispute with someone.

It was said that the man who sold the deceased land had been compelled by concerned family and community to refund his money on or before September 22, 2019.

Another version adduced to his murder had it that some persons had severally warned him to stop dating a particular girl rumour to be pregnant for him, now.
